Eino Juhani Kiviniemi, 71, of Bethel, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 4. He was born in Pyhajoki, Finland on May 24, 1942, son of the late Juho and Aili Kiviniemi.
In July of 1967, he emigrated to the United States where, soon after arriving, he met his beloved wife and best friend Hannele.
Eino worked for many years as a Master Carpenter Foreman in Fairfield County. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending every minute with his family and beloved nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two additional grandchildren will soon be welcomed into this world, which Eino was extraordinarily excited about.
Eino, endearingly known as âIsiâ and âPappaâ, is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Hannele; 6 daughters: Tina Olin, her husband Michael; Minna Kiviniemi; Elina Kiviniemi Cordon; Lisa Melendez, her husband Josue; Hanna Smigala and her husband Jeff; Eeva Koski, her husband Antti; 9 grandchildren; Michael Olin Jr., and his sister Ingrid Kiviniemi, her fiancé Walter Melendez; Matthew Eino Kiviniemi, Samuel, Jocelyn and Ryan Melendez; Sophia, Lily and Kaiya Koski; his great granddaughter, Olivia Melendez; 3 sisters, Vieno Oversti and Aino Viirret of Finland and Irja Oja, and her husband Thure of Brooklyn, CT as well as dozens of nieces and nephews in the US and Finland.
