Brian F. Barrett, 78, of Danbury, husband of Janet (Romeo) Barrett, died peacefully at his home on Monday, July 27th with this family by his side. He was born in Danbury on January 23, 1937, son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Fowler) Barrett. He was a graduate of Ridgefield High School. Brian retired from the Connecticut National Guard as a Lt. Colonel with 22 years of service. He worked for SNET for 32 years, and retired as Manager of Construction in 1987. He was a life member of SNET Retirees Association, the Telephone Pioneers of America, Connecticut National Guard Retirees of Florida and of Military Officers Association of America. Brian was a member of The Joseph W. Tarrant Memorial Post #100, American Legion, Bethel and of The Hundred Club of Connecticut. He was a former member of The West Point Club. He was a volunteer for “Housing for Heroes”. In addition to his wife, Janet, he will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Nancy and her husband, Mark, and Taryan and her husband, Richard; his five grandchildren, Kari and her husband, Alex, Jenni, Terilyn, and Samantha, and Richard Jr.; his two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Alex; son-in-law, Jim Milne and his best friend Jack. He was predeceased by his brother, Terry Barrett. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Vincent Rella and Staff, and to Western Connecticut Homecare and Regional Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during his illness.
