John Hluchy Jr. – October 21, 1926 – February 08, 2013

John Hluchy, Jr., 86, of Newtown, Connecticut died on Friday, February 8th at Danbury Hospital. He was born on October 21, 1926 in Myjava, Slovakia, son of the late John and Anna (Viskup) Hluchy, Sr. He immigrated to the United States in 1947. He lived in Robbinsville, HIghtstown and Whiting, New Jersey. He was an upholsterer and a farmer, raising crops for Campbell Soup at one time. He was an active member of his church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Trenton, New Jersey and worked at the Czechoslovak America Farmers Club for several years. He enjoyed gardening, animals, photography and music. He was an avid student of history, particularly World War II, having grown up in Europe during the war. John will be greatly missed by his sisters, Elizabeth Agati and Anna Pavlovich; his brother, the Reverend Stephen Hluchy and his wife Olga; his nieces and nephews, Carol Carson and her husband William, Michele Hluchy and her husband Lawrence Deis and Stefanie Hluchy and her husband Francisco Delgado; as well as his great nephews William and Alexander Carson.
