Aaron H. Olmstead, age 80, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, May 21, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Walter and Ruth (Nolan) Olmstead. He was born in Danbury on March 24, 1935. A lifelong Danburian, Mr. Olmstead proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Upon his return he joined the Danbury Local Plumbers Union. In 1971 he opened Aaron Olmstead Plumbing and Heating, operating the business for over 30 years. He was an avid cook and loved sharing his great sense of humor with everyone he knew. He was devoted to his children and enjoyed being a grandfather and great grandfather; he will be greatly missed. Mr. Olmstead is survived by his 3 children: Debra Olmstead, Aaron W. Olmstead, and Christina Olmstead all of Danbury; a grandson Paul Windebank and his wife, Laura and their children Sage and Gracie; his twin sister, Anne Kreffer of Sandgate, VT and several nieces and nephews as well as his âfurry friendsâ Charlie and Cheddar.
