Jack Demo, age 94 of Danbury, died on Friday February 20th at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Hedvika M. âIreneâ (Tumasz) Demo. Jack was born in Danbury June 7, 1920, the son of the late Michael and Antonia R. Demo. Raised and educated in Danbury, Jack served in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in both Texas and Hawaii. Early in his life, he constructed a number of homes in the Danbury area, and also worked in the paint and hardware business. He later owned and operated Jack Demo Plumbing and Heating in Danbury for many years. Jack enjoyed gardening, and had a vineyard at his home where he harvested grapes to make wine. He also enjoyed cooking and fishing in his spare time, and had a keen sense of humor. Jacksâ family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff of Maplewood of Danbury, for both the excellent care and wonderful living environment provided to Jack over the last 2 years. Jack is survived by his children: Antoinette Gustavson and her husband Keith of Danbury, Margaret Ashton and her husband Fritz of Windham and Jack James Demo and his wife Miah of Bethel, two brothers: Julius Demo of Danbury and Rochi Demo of Bethel, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
