John W. Jesionowski, 94, of Danbury, beloved husband of the late Margaret (Peeler) Jesionowski, died peacefully at Glen Hill on Monday, February 16th. He was born in Danbury on July 26, 1920, son of the late Walter and Mary (Wendzl) Jesionowski. He was lovingly called âSonnyâ by his seven sisters. John was well known by many of the students and faculty of Henry Abbott Technical School where he enjoyed working as a custodian for 32 years. He fondly remembered his time there. He also worked for 20 years for the Lee Hat Factory in Danbury. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed being a life member of the Taunton Fish and Game Club in Newtown. He was a longtime fan of the UConn Girlâs Basketball team and watching the games with his late wife Margaret was a treasured pastime. He will be sadly missed by his cherished daughter, Ellen VanVoorhis and her husband, Robert of Danbury; his sisters, Florence Wirag and Nellie Krisko, both of Danbury; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by five sisters, Jennie Nielson, Helen Day, Amelia Trocolla, Loretta Jesionowski, and Minnie Brezofski.
