Mary Slevin, age 88 of Danbury, died on December 4th at Saint Mary Hospital Waterbury following a long illness. She was the the wife of Emil J. Slevin. Mary was born October 17, 1926 in Kopki, Poland the daughter of the late Edward and Agnieszka (Kozub) Konik. She had attended schools in Poland, and emigrated to the United States in 1959. She and her husband Emil, who married in 1950, resided in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, NY where they were parishioners of SS. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church. Mary was employed as a supervisor with several building maintainence companies in New York, retiring in 1989. She and her husband relocated to Danbury in 1991, where they have been parishioners of Saint Gregory the Great Church. In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mary is survived by her children: Elizabeth M. Slevin of Brooklyn, NY Emil J. Slevin Jr. of Brooklyn, NY and Rena A. Slevin of Danbury, three sisters: Janina Tapper of Calicoon Center, NY, Katarzyna Genowefa Siwiec and Stanislawa Misiewicz of Poland, one granddaughter Nicole Slevin and several nieces and nephews.
