Guy G. Gardiner, 83, of Danbury, beloved husband of Deborah (Carr) Gardiner, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, November 23rd. He was born in Newtownville, MA on March 7, 1931, son of the late Frank D. and Virginia (Gibson) Gardiner. He was a graduate of Loomis Chaffee Prep School in Windsor, CT, Class of 1950. He then attended two textile colleges; Philadelphia Textile College and Lowell Textile College. Guy was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving as a crew chief on a C-47 for the United States Air Force. He retired as a District Sales Manager for Kimberly Clark after 35 years of employment. Guy was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a charter member of the Danbury Men’s Club. He enjoyed traveling, and was an avid reader and golfer. Guy’s spontaneous sense of humor was infectious, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. In the spring you could often find Guy strolling the Siesta Key beach with Debby by his side. Most importantly, Guy was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Deborah, he leaves behind his devoted daughter, Pamela G. Mickewich and her husband, Robert of Newtown; his granddaughter, Katherine, and his daughter-in-law, Diane D. Giardina of New Fairfield. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, David Carr and his wife Barbara, Robert Carr, and several nieces and nephews. He is now reunited with his beloved son, Bruce F. Gardiner, who predeceased him.
