George B. Benedict, Jr., 72, born October 12, 1941 in Danbury, CT, passed away at his home in Kent, Ct on, January 6, 2014. He was the son of the late George Benedict and Dorothy L (Hawley) Conklin.
George graduated from Danbury High School. He was in the Navy on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War.
George loved to paint. He enjoyed racing RC cars, flying model airplanes and camping with his family. He was an avid fan and pit crew member of Danbury Race Arena. He was a huge motocross fan.
He is survived by his son John A. Benedict of New Fairfield, his daughter Sandra Benedict (Maneesh Shanbhag) of New York City; his sister Mary Jane Sartwell of Kent, three brothers Francis Benedict of Kent, William Conklin (Ruth) of West Palm Beach, Fl, and Richard Conklin (Christine) of New Preston; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Frank Conklin.
