Michael Charles Verrico – August 11, 1944 – November 26, 2014

Michael C. Verrico, 70, of New Fairfield, beloved husband of Annmarie (Porricelli) Verrico, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, November 26th, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Bronx, New York on August 11, 1944, son Ermelinda (Morra) and the late John Verrico. He was a veteran, proudly serving with the United States Marine Corp Reserves during peacetime. Michael was a self employed accountant for more than 20 years, and previously worked for several Fortune 500 companies. He was an avid soccer fan; he was a past coach for his son’s teams with the New Fairfield Jaycee’s Soccer. He was a referee of High School soccer in both Connecticut and New York for many years. Most importantly, Michael was a loving husband, to his wife Annmarie for over 47 years and a devoted and loving father and grandfather to his two sons and grandchildren. In addition to his cherished wife, Annmarie, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Michael Verrico of Fairfield, and Justin C. Verrico and his wife, Carrie of New Fairfield; his two grandchildren, Kayla Main and Mason Verrico. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Verrico and his wife, Beverly of NJ; and his sister, Johanna Randall of NY. The family would like to express their sincere thanks the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Praxair Cancer Center, and the 11 East Oncology Floor at Danbury Hospital.

Guy G. Gardiner – March 07, 1931 – November 23, 2014

Guy G. Gardiner, 83, of Danbury, beloved husband of Deborah (Carr) Gardiner, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, November 23rd. He was born in Newtownville, MA on March 7, 1931, son of the late Frank D. and Virginia (Gibson) Gardiner. He was a graduate of Loomis Chaffee Prep School in Windsor, CT, Class of 1950. He then attended two textile colleges; Philadelphia Textile College and Lowell Textile College. Guy was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving as a crew chief on a C-47 for the United States Air Force. He retired as a District Sales Manager for Kimberly Clark after 35 years of employment. Guy was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a charter member of the Danbury Men’s Club. He enjoyed traveling, and was an avid reader and golfer. Guy’s spontaneous sense of humor was infectious, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. In the spring you could often find Guy strolling the Siesta Key beach with Debby by his side. Most importantly, Guy was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Deborah, he leaves behind his devoted daughter, Pamela G. Mickewich and her husband, Robert of Newtown; his granddaughter, Katherine, and his daughter-in-law, Diane D. Giardina of New Fairfield. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, David Carr and his wife Barbara, Robert Carr, and several nieces and nephews. He is now reunited with his beloved son, Bruce F. Gardiner, who predeceased him.

David A. Schmeltz – May 06, 1939 – December 02, 2014

David A. Schmeltz, age 75 of Danbury died on Tuesday December 2nd at Glen Hill/Genesis Health Care, Danbury. He was the husband of Carolyn M. (Schulz) Schmeltz. David was born May 6, 1939 in Danbury, and was predeceased by his parents, the late Fred and Myrtle (Rahmsdorff) Schmeltz, and his sister Sandra Moy. A lifelong resident, he had served in the National Guard for 7 years, and was employed as a tool and die maker with the Capitol Machine Co for 35 years until the time of his retirement. He also was employed as a bus driver with Housatonic Area Regional Transit. In addition to his wife Carolyn, David is survived by his son, Robert A. Schmeltz of FL and his daughter Deborah J. Schmeltz of Danbury.

Norman H. Schoen – October 04, 1931 – November 26, 2014

Norman H. Schoen, Sr., also known as “Norks” and “Pop”, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and formerly of Danbury, died peacefully at his home on November 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Norm, the son of Benjamin and Marie Schoen, was born on October 4, 1931. He married Evelyn Cordio on May 10, 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin during the Korean War. Norm and Ev had five children. Norm believed in a hard day’s work and had a long career in the construction field. He was a generous soul and would lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved the Lord and had a strong faith. Upon retirement, he and Ev moved to Excelsior Springs, Missouri where he enjoyed the remaining years of his life. Norm is survived by his children, Janis and Dennis Watkins of Kearney, MO, Nancy and Charlie Fairchild of New Fairfield, Judy and Walter MacKenzie of Kearney, MO, Allen and Leslie Schoen of Southbury, and Michael Bishop of Brookfield. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, his son, Norman H. Schoen, Jr., and his grandson, Matthew MacKenzie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Greg and Leah Watkins, Brian and Sue Watkins, Jeffrey and Lisa Watkins, Charlene and Ray Pun, Nicholas and Nicole Belot, Jessica and Cristiano Costa, Joshua MacKenzie, and Sarah MacKenzie and her Fiancee, Joe Wallis, as well as his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Julian, Alani, Evan and Maya Watkins, Jaelynn and Aubrie Belot and Mark J. D’Arinzo, V.

George Thomas Deakin, 85, of Southbury formerly of Danbury, beloved husband of Lota Dee (Henry) Deakin, died Wednesday, December 3rd at Danbury Hospital. He was the son of the late George Martin and Ethel (Wright) Deakin, born in Danbury on June 10, 1929. George graduated from Danbury High School, class of 1947. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Army. George was a parishioner of St. Peter Church for most his life. He grew up on Washington Ave. and graduated from St. Peter School. He worked as a hatter with his uncle at the Wright Hat Co. in Bethel. At the age of 14 he joined the Citizens Hose Volunteer Fire Co and remained a volunteer fireman for 71 years. He was also the Depot Manager at Pepperidge Farm in Ridgefield. He retired from the News-Times where he worked in the Circulation Dept for 25 years. George was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He was happiest when visiting with family and friends. His generous spirit blessed the many people he was always willing to help. Along with his cherished wife, of 58 years, Lota Dee, he will be sadly missed by his children, David Deakin and his wife Carol, Matthew Deakin, Michael Deakin, Christine Deakin Dunleavy, Patrick Deakin and his fiancée Barbara, Robert Deakin, Karen Youngstrom and her husband Glenn, Nancy Dixon and his 12 treasured grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sister, Anne (Deakin) Durkin and her husband William; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, David Deakin; and his sister, Mary Kolwicz.

Adele Schwenk – March 02, 1933 – December 03, 2014

Adele Schwenk, 81, of Danbury, wife of the late Ludwig “Lou” Schwenk, died peacefully at Genesis Glen Hill on Wednesday, December 3rd. She was born in Thomsfelde, Germany on March 2, 1933, daughter of the late Ludwig and Ida (Lempke) Krueger. In 1951, at the age of 18, Adele was in Bremen, Germany preparing to make her way to the United States. It was in Bremen where she met her husband, Lou, who was immigrating as well. The two boarded separate ships, but Lou found her not long after they arrived. They married on January 16, 1954 and spent 57 years together. In their early years Adele worked alongside Lou as a superintendent in their apartment building. Adele was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, bake and maintain her home for her family. She was a past member of the Edelweiss Club in Westchester, NY. She will be sadly missed by her son, Edgar Schwenk and his wife, Marielena of Brewster, NY; her two daughters, Elizabeth Sturm of Commack, NY, and Susan Fox and her husband, Francis Colin Fox of Brewster, NY; her five grandchildren, Daniel Sturm, Matthew Sturm and his wife, Camille, Rachel Sturm, Brian and Christopher Fox. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Kuhls of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lou, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Michael Sturm; and her brother Reinhold Krueger.

Mary Slevin – October 17, 1926 – December 04, 2014

Mary Slevin, age 88 of Danbury, died on December 4th at Saint Mary Hospital Waterbury following a long illness. She was the the wife of Emil J. Slevin. Mary was born October 17, 1926 in Kopki, Poland the daughter of the late Edward and Agnieszka (Kozub) Konik. She had attended schools in Poland, and emigrated to the United States in 1959. She and her husband Emil, who married in 1950, resided in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, NY where they were parishioners of SS. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church. Mary was employed as a supervisor with several building maintainence companies in New York, retiring in 1989. She and her husband relocated to Danbury in 1991, where they have been parishioners of Saint Gregory the Great Church. In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mary is survived by her children: Elizabeth M. Slevin of Brooklyn, NY Emil J. Slevin Jr. of Brooklyn, NY and Rena A. Slevin of Danbury, three sisters: Janina Tapper of Calicoon Center, NY, Katarzyna Genowefa Siwiec and Stanislawa Misiewicz of Poland, one granddaughter Nicole Slevin and several nieces and nephews.

Amelia “Millie” Fransen, 89, of Danbury, beloved wife of the late Carl Fransen, Sr., died peacefully at Genesis Glen Hill in Danbury on Sunday, December 7th. She was born in New York, NY on January 16, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Petrosky) Meyerchak. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1943. Millie worked alongside her husband for many years at the King Street Shopping Center and for various other businesses owned by Fransen and Patton. Millie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Linda Samaha and her husband, Edward; her grandsons, Carl Fransen III and his wife, Melissa, Paul Fransen; her granddaughters, Carly Santos and her husband, Rafael, and Brett Corey and her husband, Russell. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Nannette Fransen. She was predeceased by her son, Carl Fransen, Jr.

Mr. Joseph G Murray – November 13, 1948 – December 13, 2014

Joseph Gerard Murray, age 66, of Brookfield, died at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, December 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Kathleen Bresmon Murray. Joseph was born in Trenton, NJ on November 13, 1948, son of the late James and Marie (Weir) Murray. He graduated from Cathedral HS in Trenton, served in the US Army as a decoding specialist during the Vietnam War stationed at the Panama Canal; went on to earn a B.S. in Physics from St. Joseph’s College, Philadelphia and his MBA from Rider College, Lawrenceville. He was employed by Hamamatsu Corp., Bridgewater, NJ; his career spanned 32 years as a sales engineer and business development manager. He was one of the founding members of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, New Milford; was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He believed in giving back to the community and volunteered his time to Brookfield’s Relay for Life and the construction of Brookfield’s first playground at Town Hall. A dedicated father and husband, he assisted in Boy Scout Troop 135 fundraising events, served as coach to his sons’ soccer and baseball teams. He enjoyed playing tennis and skiing with his family. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by 2 sons: Matthew and Robert Murray both of Brookfield; and several cousins. He was a kind, generous, family man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Gary F. Thiele, age 76 of Brookfield, passed away on Monday, December 15th surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Hanne Britt (Slaatta) Thiele. Gary was born on July 16, 1938 in Monona, Iowa to the late Francis and Evelyn Thiele. After graduating from Iowa State University in 1960, he entered the U.S. Navy and flew fighters for over 25 years, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross for actions in Vietnam. Following six years of active service in the Navy, Gary transitioned to the airlines for 25 years and corporate flying for another 20. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Barton, son Kristian, daughter-in-law Lesli, daughter Gabriella, son-in-law Pepper, and five grandchildren: Kaia, Alexandra, Kristian, Jackson, and Siena.

Wm. Steven Weise, 64, of New Fairfield, husband of Heidi (Jones) Weise, died suddenly at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, December 14th. He was born in Neptune, NJ on October 14, 1950, son of the late William H. and Marian (LeFrank) Weise. Steve grew up in Spring Lake Heights, attended Spring Lake Heights Elementary School and graduated from Manasquan High School, Class of 1968. He was active as a thespian, musician, Eagle Scout with a God and Country Award, scholar and athlete, particularly tennis. His early love for flying, with his Dad, sent him on to graduate from The United States Naval Academy Class of ’73. During his naval career, he served as a flight instructor at Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida. He also was stationed in Maine at Brunswick Naval Air Station as a pilot flying the P-3, an anti-submarine warfare aircraft. His duties put him on the front line of defense of the United States during the cold war in identifying and tracking Soviet submarines in the Atlantic. While stationed in Maine, he met his wife, Heidi. Following his active duty Naval career, he became a career pilot and Captain with American Airlines, and he continued flying as Commander with the U.S. Navy Reserves. Steve was a great lover of music. He played the drums in the Manasquan High School marching and concert bands and in local bands as a teenager and throughout his years at The Naval Academy. He was a ranked Middle States Tennis player, and a gymnast. Steve was always the entertainer. He could walk up any stairs on his hands and knock on a door with his feet, and always entertain and delight his friends with his quick-witted jokes and puns. Steve was also a collector of celebrity autographs and he had many from his flights to and from NYC-LA. He enjoyed buying, fixing, and re-selling all types of items on E-bay and was always be proud of his “profits.” In recent years, Steve enjoyed working for Lowes in Danbury. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Heidi, he will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Stefanie Cole and her husband, Patrick of Trumbull, and Grace Weise of New Fairfield; and his grandson, Jameson Cole. He is also survived by his three brothers, Michael and his wife, Gail, Robert and his wife, Catherine, and Daniel and his wife, Gloria; his two sisters, Billie Ellen Weise and Gretchen Wolff and her husband, Robert; as well as many nieces and nephews.

David E. Wainwright, 82, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Patricia (Rasmussen) Wainwright, died peacefully on Monday, December 22nd, at the Hearth in Southbury. He was born in Staten Island, NY on October 31, 1932, son of the late Stanley and Katherine (Berliner) Wainwright. He received a Masters Degree in business from Wagner College. Mr. Wainwright retired as Director of Computing and Telecommunications from Union Carbide after 34 years of employment. He then went on to establish Wainwright Associates, working for the Town of Brookfield in computerizing their utility billing. He also owned and operated LearnTech providing management training and coaching to corporate executives. Using his computer knowledge, he volunteered for BIPED, teaching computer skills to the physically handicapped. He also used his expertise to establish the Computer Learning Center at the Brookfield Senior Center where he also taught computer skills. He enjoyed boating on Candlewood Lake and playing couples Bridge with his wife. A talented harmonica player he enjoyed performing with the Sharps and Flats choral group through the Brookfield Senior Center. In addition to his cherished wife of 55 years, Pat, he will be sadly missed by his four children, Jeffrey Wainwright of Brookfield, Matthew Wainwright of South Kingstown, RI, Steven Wainwright and his wife, Carrie of Bordentown, NJ, and Christine Wainwright Snyder and her husband, Scott of Sarasota, FL; and his seven grandchildren, Joseph, Zachary, Lindsey, Nicholas, Ethan, Christopher and Julia.

Joseph Patrick Courtney, age 78 of Thomaston, formerly of Brookfield died at his residence on Thursday December 25th. He was the husband of Patricia (McCormack) Courtney. Joseph was born May 3, 1936 in Bellshill, Scotland, the son of the late Patrick Joseph and Alice (Devlin) Courtney. He was a graduate of Coatbridge Technical College, Coatbridge, Scotland with a degree in Engineering. Joseph emigrated to the United States in 1977 and was a resident of Brookfield for 27 years before relocating to Thomaston 7 years ago. He was the proprietor of Buchanan Engineering and Development, Brookfield until the time of his retirement, a former parishioner of Saint Joseph Church, Brookfield, and the Brookfield Lions Club. Joseph was an avid lover of music, and a fan of Guy Mitchell. He also was a great supporter of Glasgow Celtic Soccer. In addition to his wife Pat of 53 years, Joseph is survived by his sons: Paul Courtney and his wife Laura of New Milford, Joseph P. Courtney and his wife Laura of New Milford, and his daughter Angela B. Courtney of Thomaston, one brother: John Courtney of Airdrie, Scotland, five grandchildren: Michelle Courtney, Samantha Courtney, Ryan Courtney, Katelyn Courtney, and Aidan Courtney Wilson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Gus Courtney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday December 30th at Saint Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Monday December 29th from 5 thru 8pm.

Frank P. Acquanita, age 71 of Danbury died on Wednesday at his residence. He was the husband of Camille “Candy” (Pignoni) Acquanita. Frank was born September 13, 1943 in New York, NY the son of the late Francesco and Catherine (DelSignore) Acquanita. He had received his BBA in Accounting from Iona College, and earned his MBA from Pace University. Following his employment with several major corporations, Frank completed a 30 year managerial career with IBM. He lectured part time at several higher education institutions, including Western Connecticut State University. In his retirement, he engaged in private investment management and a consulting partnership. A resident of Danbury since 1974, Frank assisted in the establishment of DAYO, serving as its first football commissioner, and was a founder of its T-Ball program. He was a member of the Danbury Rotary Club, serving as its President, and Chair of the Trust. In addition, he was a member of the Sons of Italy Amerigo Vespucci Lodge, and Saint Peter Church, Danbury. Frank enjoyed playing golf, home improvements, traveling to California and Pennsylvania, and attending his grandchildren’s athletic events. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Frank is survived by his sons: Frank M. Acquanita and his wife Janice of Brookfield, Michael R. Acquanita and his wife Mary of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Christopher S. Acquanita of Rocky Hill, CT; one brother: Robert Acquanita of Wappingers Falls, NY, one sister: Roseanne Caserio of Maine, seven grandchildren: Frank, Joey, Nicholas, Mia, Ashton, Avery, and Luke Acquanita, and several nieces and nephews.

Harrie M. Humphreys – February 17, 1925 – December 21, 2014

Harrie M. Humphreys died December 21st at Bethel Health Care. He was born February 17, 1925 in Denver, Colorado, son of Moreland M. and Ann L. Humphreys. He attended Denver public schools. Harrie was in the U.S. Army 1943-1946, including service in Luzon and Japan. He was discharged a Staff Sergeant in the 11th Airborne Division. Harrie entered Yale University in 1946, graduating in 1950 with a B.S. in Chemistry. While at Yale, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Chi Sigma, and captain of the freshman golf team. In 1954 he received a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Columbia University and started working for Union Carbide at its Tonawanda NY Laboratory. He transferred to Union Carbide’s Patent Department in New York City in 1957. He attended Fordham University Law School at night, receiving a LLB in 1961 and was admitted to the New York State Bar the same year. From 1971 to 1985, he served as Group Patent Counsel for patent and technology matters of one-third of Union Carbide’s operations. In 1954 he married Sophia (Sally) Matras, who predeceased him in 1982. In 1984 he married Claire Murphy. They retired from Union Carbide in 1986. He remained a consultant to Union Carbide for three years. In 1989, they moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and for several years volunteered as kitchen helpers at the local homeless shelter. They returned to Connecticut in 1999. Harrie was a member of St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. His life-long hobbies were golf (although he never got better than a 5 handicap) and music. He played the piano, guitar, soprano and baritone ukuleles and was a member of singing groups in Florida and Danbury. Harrie is survived by his wife Claire and his sister-in-law Eileen Murphy. He is also survived by three nieces and eleven grand nieces and grand nephews. The family extends their gratitude to Bethel Health Care for their compassionate care.

Michael Angelo Corriere – December 28, 1993 – January 01, 2015

Michael Angelo Corriere, 21, of Danbury, beloved son of Nanette (Durso) Corriere and the late Rocco Santo Corriere, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 1st at his Aunt’s house in the Bronx, NY.. He was born in Danbury on December 28, 1993 and was a graduate of Danbury High School. Michael was a former student at Western Connecticut State University and had aspired to become an English Professor. He was a talented writer and enjoyed writing poetry and fictional stories. He loved computers, the interactive video game WOW, and the music group “Night Wish”. He loved to cook and bake special culinary treats. Michael will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, with a loving heart who was always thinking of others. He was honest, caring, easy to talk with, had a great sense of humor and viewed by many as an angel here on earth. He gave of himself freely to his family and friends, from lending a helping hand to offering companionship in hard times; Michael was always there with a smile and will be sadly missed. In addition to his mother, Nanette, he leaves his brother and best friend, Rocco, to mourn his loss. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends that are too numerous to mention, old and young alike.

P. Daniel Duda – October 07, 1932 – December 28, 2014

P. Daniel Duda, 82, of Brookfield, died at his home on Sunday, December 28th. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 7, 1932, son of the late Peter and Anna (Matura) Duda. Dan was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Upon honorable discharge he earned his pilot’s license and was a captain for Eastern Airlines for more than twenty years. Dan worked as a draftsman for LORAD in Danbury, retiring after 25 years of employment. He loved working there and made many friends during his time there. In his younger days he was a Scout Master for many years in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Elks Club and for several years part of a Barber Shop Quartet. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and his dog Heidi. His favorite pastime was ballroom dancing, the polka and jitter bug. It was a joy watching him dance with his equally wonderful friends. He was an avid fan of Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra. He was a gentleman and a good friend to many who knew him. Dan loved to spend time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Gregory B. DeMunnik age 69 passed away on January 7th after a decade long, arduous battle with cancer. He was born in 1945 in Trenton New Jersey to John and Esther DeMunnik. He attended Danbury elementary schools and was graduated from the Bordentown Military Institute in Bordentown New Jersey where he rose to the status of the Corps of Cadet’s Commander. Upon Graduation he served in the U.S. Air Force (Strategic Air Command) during the Vietnam War Era. He was the recipient of several citations, the National Defense Medal, U.S.A.F. Expert Marksman medal, CT. Veterans Wartime Service Medal and the Cold War Service Medal. Upon receiving his honorable discharge he joined the Danbury Police Force where he served with great pride until his retirement. He later received his Associate’s Degree as a legal Assistant from Mattatuck Community College and subsequently was a Victim’s advocate for the state of CT assigned to the Danbury Superior Court’s prosecutors office. Greg enjoyed Camping in the Lake George and Rhode Island areas with his family as well as many other outdoor pursuits. Greg was preceded to heaven by his wife Nancy of 45 years. He is survived by his son Brandon who will greatly miss his father’s sense of humor and company, his granddaughter Lauren also of Danbury; brother, Gary and sister in law Maureen of Florence KY, and brother, David and sister in law Pat of Fullerton California. Along with several nieces and nephews additionally survive him. Greg’s son Brandon would like to especially thank all of the caregivers of the Praxair cancer center for their tireless efforts and excellent care provided his parents during their hours of need.

Peter C. Partenio, 81, of Danbury, beloved husband of Annette (Torrice) Partenio, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, January 10th. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 13, 1933, son of the late Charles and Ruth (Hunt) Partenio. As a Korean War Veteran Peter proudly served with the United States Navy and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupational Service Medal. During his service he traveled the world and later enjoyed sharing his experiences with his family. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #60 in Danbury. He worked in Design Engineering for several area companies including Sealed Air, Instapac, and Leed Designs. He was past president of the Danbury Bethel Racing Pigeon Association and devoted 40 years to breeding and racing pigeons. His passion for the sport will live on through the donation of his race clock which he bestowed upon a ten year old girl he had never met, and who could not afford her own. His generosity and selfless acts of kindness, such as that donation, was felt by anyone who knew him. He also enjoyed working out with his many dear friends at the Danbury YMCA. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed. In addition to his cherished wife of 58 years, Annette, he is survived by his loving children, Peter C. Partenio, of Oakville, Andrea Jakiela and her husband Jay, of Watertown, Michael Partenio and his companion Stacy Kunstel, of Danbury; his grandchildren, James and Alexa Jakiela, Christian, Harrison and Lydia Partenio; his brothers, Paul Partenio and his wife Phyllis, and Michael Partenio; and his sister, Joan Sinatra and her husband Thomas. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Cathy Torrice and many nieces and nephews.
