Ernest R. Stolzer (Ernie) of Brookfield, passed away on September 23, 2015. After graduating from Brooklyn Polytech with a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering in 1953 followed by a Masters of Industrial Engineering from New York University in 1956 Ernie began his lifetime career in the wholesale baking business in 1953 when he joined Ward Baking Company as a bakery layout engineer. Ward produced Tip Top bread and cake in twenty bakeries in the United States. In 1971 Ernie was promoted to Group President. When Ward Baking Co. moved to Chicago in 1973 he decided to stay in the New York area and joined ITT Continental Company as their Vice President of bakery operations. In their 55 bakeries across the United States they produced Wonder Bread, Twinkies, Hostess Cupcakes and many other baked products. When they were sold in 1985 Ernie and his beloved wife Emma again decided to stay in the N.Y. area. Ernie joined Quality Bakers of America whose main product bears the Sunbeam label. Ernie functioned as Executive V.P. and C.O.O. until his retirement in 2001. His beloved wife Emma passed away in 1987 and he has dwelled in Brookfield, since 1979. His is predeceased by his parents Margaret and Ernest R. Stolzer. His three children: Ernest R. Stolzer, Jr and wife Maribeth, LynnAnn Zanghi and her husband Anthony and Janet Davis and her husband Dennis are heartbroken over the passing of their father. His grandchildren Kyle Davis and wife Alyssa, MaryFaith Blank and her husband Aaron, Timothy Davis and his wife Lara, Mark Zanghi and fiance Janay Cohen, Anne Stolzer and Kate Stolzer along with his great-grandson Chase Blank will forever remember all the joy and support he brought to each of them and the life lessons that he taught them which they will never forget.
