John C. Durkin, age 89 of New Milford, beloved husband of Josephine (Faust) Durkin, passed away at his home on June 29, 2015. John was born in Danbury on March 10, 1926, the son of the late John and Loretta (Roswell) Durkin. A veteran of WWII, he proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Vincennes in the Pacific Theatre. John was employed with Sikorsky Aircraft, retiring in 1988. In addition to his wife Josephine, John is survived by his children: Brian, Sean, and Scott Durkin, Dawn Stoopes, and Pamela Cassidy, 11 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. John is also survived by his sisters Barbara Durkin and Patricia Basher, and his sister in law Kathleen Thompson. He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Moran, and his brothers Charles, Leonard, Edward, and James Durkin.
