Henry Frederick Voigts, 85, of Danbury, beloved husband of Grace Marie (Schweitzer), died on Wednesday, March 17th at Danbury Hospital. He was born on May 11, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late J. Hinrich and Anna (Finkeldey) Voigts. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Army. He retired from Amphenol after 32 years of employment. Henry was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. At the age of 17 he joined the church choir where he met his future wife, Grace. This love of singing was passed to their children and they fondly remember singing as a family at many functions. He took great pride in designing and building the home where he and Grace raised their family and welcomed their grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also looked forward to visits from his “grand puppies,” Bernie and Mango. Henry’s favorite pastime was working with his various collections. He also enjoyed traveling the United States. Along with his cherished wife of 61 years, Grace, he will be sadly missed by his four children, Heidi Muehlfeld and her husband George, Christopher Voigts, Kurt Voigts and his wife Kim, Lori Woodruff and her husband John; his 6 treasured grandchildren, Elaine O’Brien and her husband Patrick, Benjamin and Beverly Muehlfeld, and Melissa Lewkowich and her husband Justin, Heather and Joshua Voigts. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Henry is predeceased by his grandson, Nathaniel Voigts; and his brother, Hellmut Voigts.
