Jo-Ann (Kula) Henion, 64, of Danbury, beloved wife of Richard E. Henion, died peacefully at her home, in the presence of her loved ones, on Wednesday, February 25th. She was born in Woonsocket, RI on April 9, 1950, daughter of the late Frank and Shirley (Lettin) Kula. Jo-Ann was a dedicated Registered Nurse who loved caring for her patients, and focused a large part of her 41 year career to nurse education. During her time working as Director of Nurse Education for Masonicare, she was honored with the Nightingale Award from the Connecticut Visiting Nurse Association for her compassionate care and dedication to nurse education. Her work history also includes St. Maryâs School of Nursing, 16 years in the ICU at Danbury Hospital, and most recently, Laurel Ridge in Ridgefield. One of her favorite pastimes was to go to flea markets and tag sales to hunt for her favorite antiques. Most importantly, Jo-Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her cherished husband of 39 years, Richard, she will be sadly missed to her daughters, Kelly Legg and her companion, Heather Lake, and Tracy Henion; her four grandchildren, Brandon and Richard Massey, Brandon and Kasey Veach; her brothers, Frank Kula and his wife, Georgia, and John Kula and his wife, Stacie; her sister and best friend, Karen Kula; and several nieces and nephews.
