Peter C. Partenio, 81, of Danbury, beloved husband of Annette (Torrice) Partenio, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, January 10th. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 13, 1933, son of the late Charles and Ruth (Hunt) Partenio. As a Korean War Veteran Peter proudly served with the United States Navy and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupational Service Medal. During his service he traveled the world and later enjoyed sharing his experiences with his family. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #60 in Danbury. He worked in Design Engineering for several area companies including Sealed Air, Instapac, and Leed Designs. He was past president of the Danbury Bethel Racing Pigeon Association and devoted 40 years to breeding and racing pigeons. His passion for the sport will live on through the donation of his race clock which he bestowed upon a ten year old girl he had never met, and who could not afford her own. His generosity and selfless acts of kindness, such as that donation, was felt by anyone who knew him. He also enjoyed working out with his many dear friends at the Danbury YMCA. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed. In addition to his cherished wife of 58 years, Annette, he is survived by his loving children, Peter C. Partenio, of Oakville, Andrea Jakiela and her husband Jay, of Watertown, Michael Partenio and his companion Stacy Kunstel, of Danbury; his grandchildren, James and Alexa Jakiela, Christian, Harrison and Lydia Partenio; his brothers, Paul Partenio and his wife Phyllis, and Michael Partenio; and his sister, Joan Sinatra and her husband Thomas. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Cathy Torrice and many nieces and nephews.
