P. Daniel Duda, 82, of Brookfield, died at his home on Sunday, December 28th. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 7, 1932, son of the late Peter and Anna (Matura) Duda. Dan was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Upon honorable discharge he earned his pilotâs license and was a captain for Eastern Airlines for more than twenty years. Dan worked as a draftsman for LORAD in Danbury, retiring after 25 years of employment. He loved working there and made many friends during his time there. In his younger days he was a Scout Master for many years in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Elks Club and for several years part of a Barber Shop Quartet. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and his dog Heidi. His favorite pastime was ballroom dancing, the polka and jitter bug. It was a joy watching him dance with his equally wonderful friends. He was an avid fan of Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra. He was a gentleman and a good friend to many who knew him. Dan loved to spend time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed.
