Ralph E. Gustafson went to his eternal rest on January 25, 2014 after a long illness. His passing was witnessed by his daughter Susan as he crossed the Bridge to Heaven at Hospice of Branford CT. Ralph, the youngest child born to Ernest & Susanna (Deubel) Gustafson, born September 23 1931, attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High in 1950. He was proud to be a part of the protest that kept Danbury Fair Day alive for future generations until the Fair closed in 1981. After he graduated from high school, Ralph joined the Air Force serving his country in Thule, Greenland as a Master Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He enrolled into University of Connecticut upon discharge from the Air Force to study engineering. He married his wife Evelyn Stec in 1954, became a father in 1955 with the birth of his daughter, Susan. His career spanned automotive repair to production manager for an electronic scale company. He worked for Berkshire Motors, Data Control Systems, and CompuWeigh. Ralph will be remembered as a man who would always lend a hand if someone needed to build a deck, install a swimming pool, fix a car or any home repair project, His meticulous work was appreciated by all. Fondly referred to as ââ Uncle Euellââ he loved the outdoors imparting tidbits on edible vegetation on hikes. He was an avid gardener, enjoying and sharing the harvest with friends, neighbors and family. He is predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (Stec) Gustafson and his son Jeffrey R. Gustafson, his parents Ernest & Susanna, His sisters, Evelyn Schrade & Anne Parzuchowski. Besides his daughter, Susan Gustafson. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Molly Sim, grandchildren Lauren Elizabeth Sim Gustafson and Colby Gustafson of Alexandria, VA. His brother, Ernest P. Gustafson, Jr., nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
