Ms. Carole A. (McIntosh) Cole, 80, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Danbury Hospital.
Carole was born on June 23, 1933 in Danbury, daughter of the late Carl and Catherine (Harrison) McIntosh. She spent her career working in the food service industry for various establishments in her hometown. Carole was a very active member of the Danbury Senior Center. She was a founding member of the Danbury Athletic Youth Organization and served a term as president of the PTO at Pembroke School. Carole was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles and reading. Her biggest passion was swimming all throughout her life. She was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending summer days at the lake with her sons.
Carole leaves behind to mourn two sons, Robert D. and his wife Nellie Cole and Allan D. Cole, both of Danbury; four grandchildren, Danielle and her fiancée Ryan Kornhaas, Erica Cole, Ian Cole and her best friend, Lucas Cole; and a nephew, Carl McIntosh. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey A. Cole, and a daughter-in-law, Karen A. Cole.
