Arlyne Jaquith, 95, of Danbury, wife of the late Joseph Jaquith, died on Wednesday, July 10th at Hancock Hall with her daughters by her side. She was born September 20, 1917 in Danbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Ona M. (Elwell) Cornell, founder of the Cornell Memorial.
She owned Arlyne’s Beauty Salon, which she operated out of her home. She was President of Business and Professional Women’s Club in Danbury. Arlyne enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Wamego Golf Club.
She remained in touch with her high school friends and visited with them often. She enjoyed having tea with her great grandchildren and at the age of 86 cared for her great granddaughter, Isla.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was happiest when spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her laughter and great sense of humor.
Arlyne will be sadly missed by her three children, Jolyne Dube, husband Paul; Jackie Taylor, and Terry Jaquith, wife Donna. Also her seven grandchildren: Heidi Chlednick, Richard Boyle, Michelle Kenefick, Robert and Kristian Taylor, Lisa Jaquith and Renee Suriani, as well as ten beloved great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Yvonne (Jaquith) Bessel and four siblings.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to her caregivers while she was still at home, Marita and Bibi, for their loving and gentle care.
