Anna Louise Kenney Gay Coffey, 90, of Danbury, CT passed away on her fatherâs birthday, December 27, 2012 after a long illness with family at her bedside.. Anna was born on December 5, 1922 in New York, NY, a daughter of the late Edward and Edith Kenney. She attended schools in Georgetown and Ridgefield, CT. She grew up on Portland Avenue in Georgetown, CT and settled in Danbury, CT for the last 57 years. Before retiring in her mid 70âs she worked at American Radionics, the Salvation Army, and Mediplex in Danbury, CT. She then went on to care for her mother and many grandchildren. Anna was a soldier with the Salvation Army, ringing the bell for the red kettle campaign for many years. Through her grandchildren she was a dedicated fan of the Danbury Vikings and was known to all as âGrandma Vikingâ. She is survived by her children Douglas Kenney (Linda), Sharron A. Simao (John), Darlene Lombardo, Gary Gay, Deborah L. Hyde (Rocky), Audrey F. Coffey, and Melissa J. Coffey. She was predeceased by her son Francis Gay, her sister Edith (Kenney) Meyers, her bother Edward Kenney, her daughter-in-law Norma Kenney, and her grandson Adam D. Brill. Anna is also survived by many, many, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, who were the absolute joy and light of her life, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. âTag Lastâ Gram.
