Michael K. Stavros, 79, of Danbury, died at home on Thursday, July 4th. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Vasiliki “Kiki” Stavros, who predeceased him in May. Michael was born on May 25, 1934 in Voustsara, Arcadia Greece, son of the late Konstandinos G. and Georgia A. (Mihos) Stavros.
Michael was a hairdresser for 60 years and owner of Michael’s Beauty Salon at North Street Shopping Center for 43 years. Family was most important to him. His inspirations were his grandchildren, hairdressing and gardening. He enjoyed cooking, the outdoors, boating and hiking.
Michael will be missed by his daughters, Constance Tracey (Robert) and Michelle Stavros-Keenan (James) of Danbury; his grandchildren, Michael, Reena and Augustus; his sisters, Stavroula Anagnostopoulos (Photi) and Vicki Stavros-Karavitis; his nephews, Kosta, Billy, Dino, Stace and Peter; his nieces, Panagiota and Roula as well as a large extended family.
In addition to his wife, Kiki, Michael was predeceased by his brother George.
